Cytoplasm - everything inside the cell excluding the nucleus 

<span>Cytosol - the fluid that organelles float in inside the cell </span>

<span>Without cytoplasm, all there is in the cell is the nucleus, so the cell can't perform maintenance or make energy, or function at all. </span>

<span>Without cytosol, there would be no medium in the cell for the organelles and solutes to move through. The cell wouldn't be able to move any of its components to where they needed to go to maintain its survival and perform any functions.
