Answer:

y = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with opposite sides parallel. Then segment CD must be parallel to AB, and CB must be parallel to DA. Two different segments are parallel if they have the same slope.

slope of DA = (yA - yD)/(xA - xD) =  (4 - 2)/(1 - (-1)) = 1

slope of CB = (yB - yC)/(xB - xC) = (2 - yC)/(1 - (-1)) = 1

(2 - yC) = 2 * 1

2 - 2 = yC

0 =  yC

Note: coordinates of A are (xA, yA), of B are (xB, yB), of C are (xC, yC) and of D are (xD, yD)

What is the point of intersection of x-2y=8 and y=2- 1/2 x
Alex777 [14]
There are several ways you can go about solving this. The easiest way is to graph it with desmos. But I'll show you how to do it algebraically.

So what it means when it says the point of intersection is what is the ordered pairs.

Well we can do this using substitution since that might be easier

So since y = 2 - 0.5x we can substitute it into x - 2y = 8
That gets us:

x - 2(2 - 0.5x) = 8

Next distribute the -2:

x -4 + x = 8

Combine like terms and solve for x!

2x =  12
x = 6

Now substitute x into any of our y = 2 - 0.5x so we get

y = 2 - 0.5(6)

y = -1

So our answer is (6,-1)

Below are monthly rents paid by 30 students who live off campus.
andre [41]

Answer:

Mean = 587

Median = 585

Mode = 590

Standard deviation = 112.538

The mean and the median

Yes, both mean and median have close values

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the data:

365, 420, 450, 460, 480, 480, 510, 520, 520, 550, 550, 560, 570, 580, 580, 590, 590, 590, 590, 600, 600, 620, 630, 660, 680, 700, 710, 775, 790, 890

The mean, m = Σx / n = 17610 / 30

Mean = 587

The median = 1/2(n+1)th term

Median = 1/2(31)th term

Median = 15.5th = (580+590) / 2 = 585

The mode = 590 (observation with highest frequency, 4)

Standard deviation, s = √Σ(x-m)²/(n-1)

s = 112.538
