First, I'll find <span>forums with other people who have this condition is a must. If you find out information on a forum, try to ask the members where they got it, if they have any evidence/studies to back it up. Depending on how well studied the disease is, doctors may or may not be helpful.

Then, </span><span>I would check with the societies/organizations that were dedicated to this particular disease, but I would double check who started the organization, too. I know of one where the website support site for a disease was started by the pharmaceutical company that made drugs for it, so all the advice was to take their drugs.</span>
