You're on the right track. If they generated 380 less than 2012, then in 2013 they generated 9782-380 = 9402.
They used 10472 in 2012, so 10472+390 = 10862 used in 2013. now subtract used from produced to see how much they had to buy...
10862-10472 = 390
They had to buy 390khW from the power company.

Verdich [7]

Answer: according to spark notes: There can be 0, 1, or 2 solutions to a quadratic equation, depending on whether the expression inside the square root sign, (b2 - 4ac), is positive, negative, or zero. This expression has a special name: the discriminant.

In this case it is 0, not 2, which was my first and wrong answer

How many zeros does the function f(x) = 3x12 − 17x8 + 11x4 − 6x + 23 have?
dem82 [27]
How many zeros does the function f(x) = 3x12 − 17x8 + 11x4 − 6x + 23 have?

Answer: the third option (12 zeros..).

Use ^ to denote an exponent..

f(x) = 3x^12 - 17x^8 + 11x^4 - 6x + 23..

We know from that fact that the number of zeros (real or complex) in a polynomial is the same as the degree of the polynomial..

The degree is the greatest/highest power of the terms, which in this case is 12 (since 12 is the greatest exponent..)..

The degree is 12, thus it means there are 12 zero's..

Answer: the third option (12 zero's )...
