This phase is reached after the <u>orientation phase</u>, when the patient gets to feel comfortable with the therapist, and <u>after the identification phase</u>, when both patient and therapist decide what to work on. In the <u>working phase</u> the patient, in this case Roger, begins to work on himself and tries to deal with his issues, like the patterns of dependent behavior. It may consist of making external changes or sometimes internal, most likely both. It is the most important part of the therapy and the one that implies more effort from both the patient and the therapist. After that phase the patient reaches the <u>resolution phase.</u> In this phase the therapy may be ended or sometimes the patient feels it's time for a break or maybe changing therapist.
