The easiest way to solve this is to get rid of all the extra signs!

just remember that a - times a - is equal to a positive, then go from left to right

so starting from left to right, we have
4 + ( - 2)
we know that 4 minus 2 is 2, so we know that

4 + ( - 2) - ( - 2)
is the same thing as

2 - ( - 2)
we also know that two negative signs make a positive sign! so that means that -(-2) is the same thing as +2!

so now we have

2 + 2
and we know the answer is 4!

On your menu, Curly fries are listing $0.82. A customer asked how many curly fries they can order with $12.50? Use the division
Zigmanuir [339]

Answer:

15 curly fries

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Price of one curly fry on the menu is $0.82.

Total money the customer have = $12.50

The customer knows the price of 1 curly fry which is unit rate.

So, unit rate of curly fry = $0.82

Now, total number of fries that can bought is given by dividing the total amount of money the customer have and unit rate of the curly fries.

Therefore, the number of curly fries, the customer can buy are:

\textrm{Number of fries}=\frac{\textrm{Total money}}{\textrm{Unit rate of 1 fry}}\\\\\textrm{Number of fries}=\frac{12.50}{0.82}\\\\\textrm{Number of fries}=15.24\approx15(\textrm{As number of fries can't be in fraction})

Hence, the total number or maximum number of curly fries that the customer can order with 12.50 dollars are 15.
