There should be 1,400 pages in an order that costs the same for both companies.

Let x be the unknown number of pages.

1st Company = 42 + 0.05x
2nd Company = 0.08x

0.08x = 42 + 0.05x
0.08x - 0.05x = 42
0.03x = 42
0.03x / 0.03 = 42 / 0.03
x = 1400 pages

To check

0.08x = 42 + 0.05x
0.08 (1400) = 42 + (0.05 * 1400)
112 = 42 + 70
112 = 112

The value y is a function of x if for each element x in the domain, there is/are how many value(s) of y in the range?
viva [34]
In a function f(x):

set of all the values that x can take is called the domain of the function.

Set of all the values that f(x) (or y) can take is called the range of the function.

Range can have either finite or infinite number of values depending on the function its domain.

For example, f(x) = x^2
can have infinite number of values in range.

whereas :
f(x) = [x] , 0<x<10
where [x] is the greatest integer function,

has finite number of values in its range.

7) 8hours

8) 10 pizzas

9) 13 packets

_______________________

EXPLANATION .:

_____(7)______________

Stacy's earning per hour babysitting

= 12$

Thus on Friday to earn 36$,

she would have worked 36/12 = 3 hours

On Saturday she earned 60$,

thus the time she worked = 60/12 = 5 hours

So the total time Stacy babysited on both days = 3+5 = 8hours

_______(8)__________________

Total ounces with Marco = 147

Ounces required for 1 pizza = 13

Ounced required for 1 breadstick = 2

Now when he has already made 3 breadsticks thus he would have used 3×2 = 6 ounces

So the remaining ounces = 147-6 = 141

Hence he can make 141/13 = 10.8 or 10 pizzas.

___________(10)_____________

Mr.Dundford gives 6 pencils to each student => for 30 students the pencils required would be 30×6 = 180

Now when he had already 24 pencils Thus the remaining = 180-24 = 156

Also there are 12 pencils in a packet

=> packets required = 156/12 = 13

Cos s=-2/5 and sin t=4/5, s and t are in quadrant II<br> find cos(s+t) and cos(s-t)
mojhsa [17]

Answer:

•cos(s+t) = cos(s)cos(t) - sin(s)sin(t) = (-⅖).(-⅗) - (√21 /5).(⅘) = +6/25 - 4√21 /25 = (6-4√21)/25

•cos(s-t) = cos(s)cos(t) + sin(s)sin(t) = (-⅖).(-⅗) + (√21 /5).(⅘) = +6/25 + 4√21 /25 = (6+4√21)/25

cos(t) = ±√(1 - sin²(t)) → -√(1 - sin²(t)) = -√(1 - (⅘)²) = -⅗

sin(s) = ±√(1 - cos²(s)) → +√(1- cos²(s)) = +√(1 - (-⅖)²) = √21 /5
