The ocean is an excellent example of a shared resource that can easily be abused and degraded because it’s shared by many differ

ent nations. No single authority has the power to pass laws that protect the entire ocean. Instead, each nation manages and protects the ocean resources along its coastlines, leaving the shared common space beyond any particular jurisdiction vulnerable to pollution. Throughout the world’s oceans, garbage has begun to accumulate in the center of circular currents, or gyres. These giant patches of ocean garbage occur because many different countries allow solid waste to enter the oceans from land or ships. Destruction of ocean ecosystems because of garbage, especially plastic pollutants, is likely to affect every person on the planet as these pollutants cycle through the food chain. The above scenario is an example of _____.
a. a collective action
b. problem collective
c. problem-solving sustainable development
d. the pollution-inaction disaster

Answer:

The answer is Problem Collective.

Explanation:

Simply,

Problem collective, or a Collective action problem is a shared problem that can be cooperated and solved collectively by those who are affected by it but they fail to do so because of their "Conflicting Interests."

Conflicting interests means that the goals of each country/individual are different and in order to come to a productive conclusion, each nation/individual has to make sacrifices and changes to their objectives. But as it doesn't happen, the problem persists and gets worse eventually.

Advertising Costs $ 12 comma 000 Indirect Labor 7 comma 000 CEO's Salary 460 comma 000 Direct Labor 54 comma 000 Indirect Mater
sineoko [7]

Answer:

$510,130

Explanation:

Costs can be classified into two categories: Product Costs and Period Costs. Product costs are the manufacturing costs that are incurred in the production of goods and services. Under absorption costing, product costs include direct materials, direct labor, indirect materials, indirect labor, and other factory overhead. These costs are capitalized and expensed out when related goods and services are sold out.

On the other hand, period costs are selling & administrative expenses. These costs are never capitalized and expensed out in the statement of profit or loss as soon as incurred. Examples of period costs are advertisement expenses, depreciation expenses (not related to factory), sales commissions, administrative salaries and wages.

Calculation of Period Costs

Advertising costs $12,000

CEO's salary 460,000

Delivery vehicle depreciation 1,230

Administrative wages and salaries 36,900

Total Period Costs $510,130

Volkswagen has signaled that it is going to stay the course in russia, despite current political and economic headwinds. why do
Olin [163]

In Volkswagen, part of the reason, I believe, that they stayed in Russia, is because Russia and Germany have, in many instances, combined military and political forces. For Russia, it's a pro to their economy because they are able to hire more people there. It is a con in the sense that it may cost Volkswagen more money to be there in Russia than what their income may total.

The cyclical deficit:________ A. is not affected by changes in actual income or potential income. B. rises as the economy expand
IceJOKER [234]

Answer:

B. rises as economy expands, falls as economy contracts.

Explanation:

Deficit is the excess of government expenditures over government revenues.

Cyclical Deficit is interconnected to the Business Cycle phases of : Expansion, Peak, Recession, Depression, Trough, Recovery.

During growth stages of Business Cycle: Expansion or Recovery - this deficit falls because; there is more economic/ business activity & so more taxes receipts for govt & less govt expenditure on social support transfer payments (eg subsidies) to support public.

During declining stages: Recession or Depression - this deficit rises because; there is less economic/ business activity & so less taxes receipts for govt & more govt expenditure on social support transfer payments (eg subsidies) to support public.
