Um it depends on material you what to genetically enhance... in most cases genetic engineering is not a good idea because it could cause a change even when scientists enhance fruit to repel fruit eating plants, the bugs can evolve and immune, so technically genetic enhancement depends on how people look at it.

It depends on if you want to go into that type of field. You also have to think about what you want to do, how high the pay is and how much of the work and effort you would have to do. In my opinion I think it would be great to go into genetic engineering.
