9. It is a very good idea to divide by the smallest numbers.

First divide by 2 as many times as you can, then by 3, and so on:

110=2*55 (2 is an obvious factor, since the number ends with 0)

2*55=2*5*11 (5 is an obvious factor since the number ends with 5)

10.a

to find a number with factors 2, 3, 5, just multiply these numbers with any other number you want.

number 1: 2*3*5*4=120
number 2: 2*3*5*9=270

The greatest common factor of these 2 numbers is 2*3*5

any combination of these numbers is a common factor to number 1 and number 2,

so these numbers have in common the factors:

2*3=6, 3*5=15, 2*5=10, 2*3*5=30

that is {6, 10, 15, 30}

b.

a number with 8 as a factor, has also 2 and 4 as factors.

so a number with factors 2, 4 and 8 can be found by simply multiplying 8 by any number.

number 1: 8*5=40

number 2: 8*11=88

number 3: 8*500=4,000

these numbers have in common that they all are multiples of 8 (their greatest common divisor is 8)

There were 436 tickets purchased for a major league baseball game. The general admission tickets cost $6.50 and the upper reser
Nataly [62]

Answer:

How many general admission tickets were purchased? __136__

How many upper reserved tickets we purchased? _300_

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of general tickets = g.

Let the number of reserved tickets = r.

6.5g + 8r = 3284

g + r = 436

     6.5g + 8r = 3284

(+)   -8g + -8r = -3488

--------------------------------

     -1.5g         = -204

g = 136

g + r = 436

136 + r = 436

r = 300

Answer:

How many general admission tickets were purchased? __136__

How many upper reserved tickets we purchased? _300_

Calculate the length of AC, to the nearest tenth of a centimeter.
sertanlavr [38]

Answer:

AC ≈ 11.0 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Using Pythagoras' identity in Δ CDE and Δ ADE

CE² + DE² = DC²

CE² + 7² = 8²

CE² + 49 = 64 ( subtract 49 from both sides )

CE² = 15 ( take the square root of both sides )

CE = \sqrt{15}

-------------------------------------------------------

AE² + DE² = DA²

AE² + 7² = 10²

AE² + 49 = 100 ( subtract 49 from both sides )

AE² = 51 ( take the square root of both sides )

AE = \sqrt{51}

Then

AC = AE + CE = \sqrt{15} + \sqrt{51} ≈ 11.0 cm ( to the nearest tenth )

Compare the ratios 3:8 and 1:2 1. write ratios as fractions. 3:8 and 1:2 2. find a common denominator. 2 is a faction of 8, so t
xenn [34]

Answer:

1:2 > 3:8

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Ratio_1 = 3:8

Ratio_2 = 1:2

Required

Compare both ratios

Ratio_1 = 3:8

Ratio_2 = 1:2

Multiply ratio 2 by 4

Ratio_1 = 3:8

Ratio_2 = 1 * 4:2 * 4

This gives:

Ratio_1 = 3:8

Ratio_2 = 4:8

Write both ratios as fractions

Ratio_1 = \frac{3}{8}

Ratio_2 = \frac{4}{8}

Get decimal equivalent:

Ratio_1 = 0.375

Ratio_2 = 0.5

Comparing both, we have that

Ratio_2 > Ratio_1

0.5 > 0.375

Conclusively;

1:2 > 3:8

Are 2+ H +4 and 2×8×4 equivalent
Gelneren [198K]
Yes because the opposite of addition is multiplication, because they are both adding anyways, so that’s how they are opposite of eachother. And 8 takes the place of H.
