Pollution is when contaminants are starting to evolve in the environment that can cause harm and discomfort to human beings or other living organisms. It can also damage the environment. The primary causes of pollution are industrialization and population growth. Industrialization is the process in which traditionally non- industrial sectors such as agriculture, education and health of an economy become increasingly similar to the manufacturing sector of the economy. It means individual labor is being replaced by mechanical equipments. Industrialization takes a big part of widespread usage of oil, gas or coal which is excessive use is the main source of pollution. Another cause is the population growth. If population number will continue to grow, the demand of foods and goods will increase as well as production.
Air pollution is one of the types of pollution. Air pollution is one of the biggest problems Europe is facing. It affects mostly the healthcare and safety of the people around Europe especially for those who are living in the city and nearby plantation and manufacturing companies. Based on European Environment Agency, despite considerable improvements, air pollution is still responsible for more than 400, 000 deaths in each year.

Which of the following is NOT part of the water cycle?
Nadya [2.5K]

Answer: Option (D)

Explanation: In the water cycle, water is transported from the oceans, seas and lakes to the atmosphere, which then again falls back due to precipitation.

Plants also absorbs water by their roots and releases back into the atmosphere by evapo-transpiration process. Some of the water gets percolated into the ground and gets mixes up with the groundwater.

Thus all the provided options fulfills the condition for water cycle except the last one, i.e dissolution of CO₂ in the ground water or the land surface is not considered to be a part of water cycle.

Hence the correct answer is option (D).
