History

The Aztecs believed that they would recieve "help" from their Gods if they sacrificed humans, usually their hearts.
For example, Aztecs would kidnap their enemies and force them to fight for their lives. Whoever lost, whether it was a member of the Aztec tribe, or the enemy, would be sacrificed. This sacrifice was followed by tremendous amount of corn growth, leading the Aztecs to believe that the Gods sent the corn because of the sacrifice.
hope this helps!!

Answer:

The only powers granted by the Articles of Confederation were things like declaring war, foreign affairs, or making treaties- powers necessary for the government during the Revolution. The states were only unified by a "firm league of friendship," and each state had one vote in Congress no matter the size, to ensure that the larger states did not infringe on the rights or wishes of the smaller states.
