Determine whether the point (2, 2) is a solution to the system of equations. Explain your reasoning in complete sentences. Prove
goblinko [34]

Answer:

(0,2) is the solution of the given functions.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given two functions  f(x)=|x-1|+1  and g(x)=3x+2

To find the solution of the two functions mathematically, we will equate the given functions:

3x+2=|x-1|+1

3x+1=|x-1|

When we will open the modulus function we will have two values +, -

In positive case:

3x+1 =x-1

2x=-2

x=-1

Now, substitute x=-1 in g(x)=3x+2 we get

g(-1)=3(-1)+2=-1

Hence, (-1,-1) is the solution of the given functions.

In negative case:

Now, 3x+1=-(x-1)

3x+1=-x+1

4x=0

x=0

Now, put x=0 in g(x)=3x+2 we get

g(0)=3(0)+2=2

We have another solution: (0,2)

The point (2,2) is not the solution.

And graphically, the solution of two functions is their intersection point which is (0,2)

Hence, (0,2) is the solution of the function.

Suppose n(x)= 22 and n(y) is 13 what is the maximum number of elements X ∪Y can have ?
Nikolay [14]
The inclusion/exclusion principle states that

|X\cup Y|=|X|+|Y|-|X\cap Y|

That is, the union has as many members as the sum of the number of members of the individual sets, minus the number of elements contained in both sets (to avoid double-counting).

Therefore, |X\cup Y| will have the most elements when the sets X and Y are disjoint, i.e. X\cap Y=\emptyset, which would mean the most we can can in this case would be

|X\cup Y|=|X|+|Y|=22+13=35

(Note that n(X)=|X| denotes the cardinality of the set X.)

A wheel of diameter 50.0 cm starts from rest and rotates with a constant angular acceleration of 2.00 rad/s^2. At the instant th
Kruka [31]
R = 25 cm = 0.25 m
α = 2.00 rad /s²
T(heta) = 4 π
ω = T(heta)/ t
ω = α t
α t = 4 π / t
t ² = 2 π
t = √ ( 2π )  = 2.5 s
ω = α t = 2 · 2.5 = 5 rad/s
v = ω r = 5 · 0.25 = 1.25 m/s
(1)    a (rad) = ω² r = 25 · 0.25 = 6.25 m/s²
(2)    a (rad) = v² / r = ( 1.25 )² / 0.25 = 0.15625 / 0.25 = 6.25 m/s²
