1.) I belive the first one is 40 because a triangle is 180 degrees so that means that if you add 85 and 40 it would equal 125 so 180-125= 55 so F is 55 now again L is 85 so 85+55=140 so 180 -140=40 so H is 40

The x-intercept of the line x = 3.5 is ____? and the y-intercept of the line y = -6.5 is ____? Enter your answer as an ordered p
beks73 [17]
X = 3.5.....this is a vertical line that never crosses the y axis. It crosses the x axis at 3.5......so the x int is : (3.5,0)

y = -6.5...this is a horizontal line which never crosses the x axis. It crosses the y axis at -6.5....so the y int is (0,-6.5)

The percentage of people under the age of 18 was 23.5% in New York City, 25.8% in Chicago, and 26% in Los Angeles.
Hatshy [7]

Answer:

0.0158 = 1.58% probability that all of them are under 18.

Step-by-step explanation:

Probability of independent events:

If three events, A, B and C are independent, the probability of all happening is the multiplication of the probabilities of each happening, that is:

P(A \cap B \cap C) = P(A)P(B)P(C)

The percentage of people under the age of 18 was 23.5% in New York City, 25.8% in Chicago, and 26% in Los Angeles.

This means that P(A) = 0.235, P(B) = 0.258, P(C) = 0.26

If one person is selected from each city, what is the probability that all of them are under 18?

Since the three people are independent:

P(A \cap B \cap C) = 0.235*0.258*0.26 = 0.0158

0.0158 = 1.58% probability that all of them are under 18.

Factor completely x^4-17x^2+16
Snowcat [4.5K]

Answer:

(x - 1) (x + 1) (x - 4) (x + 4)

Step-by-step explanation:

actor the following:

x^4 - 17 x^2 + 16

x^4 - 17 x^2 + 16 = (x^2)^2 - 17 x^2 + 16:

(x^2)^2 - 17 x^2 + 16

The factors of 16 that sum to -17 are -1 and -16. So, (x^2)^2 - 17 x^2 + 16 = (x^2 - 1) (x^2 - 16):

(x^2 - 1) (x^2 - 16)

x^2 - 16 = x^2 - 4^2:

(x^2 - 1) (x^2 - 4^2)

Factor the difference of two squares. x^2 - 4^2 = (x - 4) (x + 4):

(x - 4) (x + 4) (x^2 - 1)

x^2 - 1 = x^2 - 1^2:

(x^2 - 1^2) (x - 4) (x + 4)

Factor the difference of two squares. x^2 - 1^2 = (x - 1) (x + 1):

Answer: (x - 1) (x + 1) (x - 4) (x + 4)
