Corey stepped back 59.71 feet to get a better view of the bird.

Explanation:

This is a right angled triangle. Let \theta be the angle of elevation.

Let the adjacent side of the triangle be x for the angle \theta

Let the opposite side of the triangle by y for the angle \theta

Thus,

\tan \theta=\frac{y}{x}

Since, the height of the tree is 80 feet, y=80

To find the value of x, let us substitute y=80 and \theta=68

x=\frac{80}{\tan 68^{\circ}}=32.32

Since, Corey moves back a few steps to gain a better view of the bird, the angle of elevation is 41°

Now, we shall find the x for  y=80 and \theta=41

x=\frac{80}{\tan 41^{\circ}}=92.03

To find how many feet Corey step back is to subtract the value of two adjacent sides, thus,

x=92.03-32.32=59.71

Thus, Corey stepped back 59.71 feet to get a better view of the bird.

One side of a rectangle is 3 m more than the other. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 30 m, what are its dimensions? *
uranmaximum [27]

Answer:

the length— 6

width— is 9

Step-by-step explanation:

you said One side— 3m MORE

so we will consider the length Number as X

we will consider width As three plus X

- You want to know the Perimeter. So we have to

add.

— so the expression is 3+3+x+x+x+x = 30

it is then simplified to 6+4x= 30

then we should be able to find out the X  which is 6

when we substitute the values with dimensions, you will get

your final Answer

Which equation could be used to solve the following system?
nikdorinn [45]

we have

x+y=11

x=11-y --------> equation A

4x^{2} -3y^{2}=8 ----> equation B

Substitute equation A in equation B

4(11-y)^{2} -3y^{2}=8

therefore

<u>the answer is the option B</u>

4(11-y)^{2} -3y^{2}=8
