Answer: b. It increases the acidity of water in soil leading to the breakdown of rocks in soil. This releases nutrients which can be used by plants.

Explanation:

Some of the soil microorganisms works in the anaerobic conditions to conduct the process of decomposition. They will produce carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide abundance in the soil will make the underground water acidic. The increase in acidity will promote the breakage of the rocks which will further allow the mixing of the inorganic  minerals particles with the soil aggregates. Therefore, the abundance of carbon dioxide in soil will maintain the balance of organic and inorganic minerals in the soil which are necessary for the growth of plants.

How many Hydrogen atoms can a Carbon atom covalently bond to?
enyata [817]
If we are talking about one single carbon atom, then 4 hydrogen atoms can be bonded to a carbon atom, because there is 4 electrons in the valence shell, and a valence shell needs 8 electrons in total, which causes the carbon to have 4 open bonds. A hydrogen has only one electron in its valence shell of 2, and needs one more to complete it. So, each hydrogen connects to 1 of 4 bonds on the carbon to complete the valence electron.
Fun fact, CH4 is methane.

On a line graph, the variable on the vertical (y) axis is the
Gemiola [76]

Answer:

dependent variable

Explanation:

In an experiment, a line graph can be used to display the results of the experiment. A line graph, which posseses two axis namely: x-axis or horizontal axis and y-axis or vertical axis, can be used to show the relationship between the independent and dependent variables in an experiment.

The independent variable, which is the variable subject to change is displayed on the X-axis while the dependent variable is displayed on the vertical or Y-axis.

Approximately 60% of human genes are also found in fruit flies. About 97.5% of human genes are also found in mice. What does thi
tatyana61 [14]

This evidence suggest that all three living creatures that are mentioned have a common ancestor, even though they have been split into different types of groups of living organism millions of years ago.

Science suggests that all of the living organisms on the planet have a common ancestor. Since we are talking about a common ancestor that lived few hundred million years ago, the living organisms split into different groups, and they do not resemble each other nowadays. The fruit fly is an insect, and the humans and mice are mammals, so they are into totally different groups, and it is easy to see by the genetic evidence that they are very distantly related, but the humans and mice are much more closely related because they belong to the same super family, and their connection is much more recent.
