In △XYZ , XZ=8 , YZ=5 , and XY=7 . What is the area of the triangle? Enter your answer, in simplified radical form, in the box.
andre [41]

Answer:

The area of the triangle is 10\sqrt{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us use Heron's Formula for the area of a triangle

Area=\sqrt{p(p-a)(p-b)(p-c)} , where

  • a, b, and c are the length of the three sides of the triangle
  • p=\frac{a+b+c}{2}

In Δ XYZ

∵ XZ = 8, YZ = 5, XY = 7

- At first find p

∵ p=\frac{XY+YZ+XZ}{2}

∴ p=\frac{7+5+8}{2}=\frac{20}{2}

∴ p = 10

∵ Area=\sqrt{p(p-XY)(p-YZ)(p-XZ)}

- Substitute the values of p, XY, YZ, and XZ in the rule above

∴ Area=\sqrt{10(10-7)(10-5)(10-8)}

∴ Area=\sqrt{10(3)(5)(2)}

∴ Area=\sqrt{300}

- Simplify the root

∴ Area=10\sqrt{3}

The area of the triangle is 10\sqrt{3}

Degger [83]

Answer: 6.8%

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to find both percentage so we can determine the increase.

Finding percentage of $10 return: 1% return

Finding percentage of $78 return: 7.8% return

To find the percent increase we do 7.8%-1.0% = 6.8%

How do i find a mixed number that is between 9/2 and 5?how do I even do this?
Pepsi [2]
A mixed number is a combination of a whole number and a fraction. The fraction 9/2 is equal to 4.5. So you would have to find a mixed number in between 4.5 and 5. You could do this by turning 5 into a mixed number, which would be 10/2.
So now you have to find a mixed number in between 9/2 and 10/2. The best way to do this is multiply both numbers so that you can get a wider range of numbers. You would not be changing the end result, you would only be changing the size of the fraction.
I would multiply both mixed numbers by 2, which would get you 18/4 and 20/4. That would mean that a number in between these two mixed numbers is 19/4. (which would simplify to 4.75)

What is the slope intercept form of 3x-2y=-16 with steps. Please explain.
8_murik_8 [283]
3x - 2y = -16

Slope intercept form is y = mx + b, so solve it for 'y'

First subtract 3x to both sides:

-2y = -3x - 16

Now divide -2 to both sides:

y = 3/2x + 8
