(x% * 4) + 4 = 4.32

Solve for 'x':

4x + 4 = 4.32

Subtract 4 to both sides:

4x = 0.32

Divide 4 to both sides:

x = 0.08

Multiply by 100:

0.08 * 100 = 8%

An easier way to do this is to find the percent increase.

First, subtract the two numbers.

4.32 - 4.00 = 0.32

Divide this to the original amount:

0.32 / 4.00 = 0.08

Multiply by 100:

0.08 * 100 = 8%

We basically did all the steps from our equation above.

Figurative language 'The meat sizzled and cracked as I laid in into the hot pan.
Anettt [7]

Answer:

The figurative language that can be found in the sentence is onomatopoeia.

Explanation:

Onomatopoeia refers to words that represent a sound by imitating it. There are several verbs that come, originally, from imitating a sound, such as: to buzz, to clang, to click, to tinkle, to jingle, and to chime, among others. The verbs to sizzle and to crack are also examples of onomatopoeia. To sizzle mostly refers to the sound food makes while being fried, although it can also refer to the sounds that fire makes while burning. The same goes for to crack, although it can refer to a more extensive range of sounds, such as explosions, or the sound of something breaking. Therefore, we can safely say the sentence "The meat sizzled and cracked as I laid it into the hot pan" uses onomatopoeia.

Use context clues to select the best definition of the italicized word.
Llana [10]

Answer:

Impatient

Explanation:

if you're waiting for a table for over an hour, you wouldn't become short-sighted. Or narrow minded. Or participatory. You'd feel the opposite of excited or anticipatory, which is why impatient is the best answer.
