(x% * 4) + 4 = 4.32

Solve for 'x':

4x + 4 = 4.32

Subtract 4 to both sides:

4x = 0.32

Divide 4 to both sides:

x = 0.08

Multiply by 100:

0.08 * 100 = 8%

An easier way to do this is to find the percent increase.

First, subtract the two numbers.

4.32 - 4.00 = 0.32

Divide this to the original amount:

0.32 / 4.00 = 0.08

Multiply by 100:

0.08 * 100 = 8%

We basically did all the steps from our equation above.
