How do living organisms create macromolecules, organelles, cells, tissues, and complex higher-order structures? select one:

The correct answer is l<span>iving organisms create order locally, but the energy transformations generate waste heat that increases the entropy of the universe as a whole.

From energy (i.e. from the sun, the main source of energy), organisms create order locally by creating cells with organized organelles such as the mitochondria, chloroplasts, Golgi apparatus etc. This cells are ordered to make tissues, organs, organ systems, and eventually, whole organisms as higher order structures. But then again, doing so needs several various chemical reactions to take place wherein heat is produced as a waste product. Heat is an unusable form of energy thereby increasing the entropy (or disorder) of the universe. </span>

<span>The answer is that; living organism create order locally, but the energy transformation generate waste heat that increase the entropy of the universe as a whole.
Life is highly ordered, therefore living organism should have much lower entropy than their non-living constituents. Using energy to create and maintain order is one of the key significance of life. Living things act to reduce entropy locally, in the organism, there must be a corresponding increase in entropy somewhere else to offset the reduction. </span>

Can you guys help me out with some honors bio questions I have? I will give brainliest thanks in advance!!
kotykmax [81]

Answer:

1. When using a codon chart, the <u>mRNA</u> sequence (option B) is used to determine the amino acid .

2. The amino acid that is represented by the UUA codon is leucine (Option A).

Explanation:

Messenger RNA (mRNA) is the molecule that contains the genetic code that must be translated by the ribosome for protein synthesis to be possible.

The nitrogenous bases in mRNA are adenine, guanine, uracil and cytosine, which form specific sequences in the molecule. The sequence of bases in the MRA can be organized into triplets of bases, called codons, which code for:

  • Initiation of protein synthesis.
  • Number and position of amino acids in the protein.
  • The stop of protein synthesis.

From this information it can be stated that the mRNA contains the sequence used to synthesize amino acids and UUA codon codes for the amino acid leucine (Leu).

The other options are not correct because:

<em>1.    A) </em><u><em>DNA </em></u><em>contains the genetic information, and its molecule must be transcribed into mRNA to be translated into amino acids. </em>

<em>     C) </em><u><em>tRNA</em></u><em> is in charge of conducting the amino acids to the ribosome during protein synthesis, matching its anticodon to the mRNA codon. </em>

<em>2. UUA does not code for: </em>

<em>     B) </em><u><em>Serine,</em></u><em> which is coded by UCU, UCA, UCG and UCC. </em>

<em>     C) </em><u><em>STOP</em></u><em>. The three STOP codons are UAA, UAG and UGA.</em>
