The first amendment applies in this particular scenario, because the events surrounding Tinker v. Des Moines involved symbolic speech without disruption. Eventually it was ruled that the first amendment does apply to public schools, and that as a result the officials at the school had no right to censor the pupils who were sent home for asserting their right to freedom of speech or expression.

kotegsom [21]

The French naturalist who in 1749 became one of the first scientists to suggest that closely-related species arose from a common ancestor and were changing was Georges Buffon.

Who is Georges Buffon?

Georges-Louis Lecrerc, Comte de Buffon (1707-1788) was a French naturalist and cosmologist who influenced the thinking of later naturalists. One idea was that animals of different species could be crossbred. But the offspring of the crossbred animals become infertile. Another of Buffon's ideas was that each species changes over time and this is the starting point for the modern theory of evolution.

Amendment 1: The first amendment grants American citizens their five basic freedoms such as the freedom of speech, religion, of the press, assembly, and to petition the government.

Amendment 2: Though heavily debated on whether or not this is what the amendment means, the second amendment is typically interpreted as allowing Americans the right to own firearms. This one is pretty simple, although the amendment itself goes into more details such as that of militias.

Amendment 3: The third amendment basically states that American citizens do not have to allow lodging for soldiers if the time arose for it.

Amendment 4: This Amendemnt prevents the government or police from searching and seizing homes, belongings, or bodies of citizens without a probable cause or warrant. To put it more simply, the government or police cannot enter a home and take anything or anyone without a warrant or cause.

Amendment 5: The fifth amendment gives accused persons a variety of rights and protections, especially that of the right to a grand jury indictment for felony offenses in federal court.

Amendment 6: The sixth ensures the right to speedy trial which basically means that people are guaranteed to recieve a fair and accurate criminal proceeding.

Amendment 7: This promises the right to a jury trial for civil cases that involve property worth more than 20$

Amendment 8: Amendment eight tries to prevent any type of cruel and unusal punishment on defendents. So no beatings and unnecessary tortue during interegation.

Amendment 9: People have other rights, even if they are not included in the Bill of Rights.

Amendment 10: Powers not given specifically to the federal government are left for the states or the people.

1. What is the purpose of the Preamble to the U.S? The preamble sets the stage for the Constitution. It clearly communicates the intentions of the framers and the purpose of the document. The preamble is an introduction to the highest law of the land; it is not the law. It does not define government powers or individual rights.

2. What is the theme of the U.S. Constituion? limited government?republicanism, checks and balances, federalism, separation of powers, popular sovereignty.

3.What is the purpose of the Preamble to the Bill of Rights? The sole purpose of the proposed amendments, as stated in the preamble, was to prevent the federal government from “misconstruing or abusing its powers.” To accomplish this, “further declaratory and restrictive clauses“ were being proposed.

4. What is the theme of the Bill of Rights? The Bill of Rights is the first 10 Amendments to the Constitution. It spells out Americans' rights in relation to their government. It guarantees civil rights and liberties to the individual.
