It would not be benefiting from Polish aid, as Poland was also in conflict with Soviet Union.

The major factor that helped the Soviets was the cold weather: the Nazis were not prepared for it as well as the Soviets were and additionally attacking is harder in cold weather than defense (the Russians were defending themselves and the Germans were attacking).
