Two factors that contributed to America's expansion of territory after the Revolutionary War are;
1. An increase in population - In 1800 the population were 5.3 million and in 1850 the population increased to 23.2 million. For this reason expansion of the territory was required to facilitate the population.
2. Manifest Destiny - this is the ideology that it was the destiny of American people to populate the entire country.
