Answer:-5t + 4t = 3 is the equation can be used to find t, where t is the time it takes for Milla and Luka to meet

Explanation:-

Given: Milla and Luka are 3 kilometers apart and walking toward each other.

⇒ Distance between them = 3 km

Milla's average speed u=5 kilometers per hour

and Luka's v= 4 kilometers per hour.

Therefore the resultant average speed = u+v=(5+4) kilometers per hour.

We know that Distance =speed × time

⇒Distance between them= resultant average speed × time

⇒3=(5+4)×t , where t is time it takes for Milla and Luka to meet

⇒3=5t+4t            [distributive property]

Thus , 5t + 4t = 3 is the equation can be used to find t, where t is the time it takes for Milla and Luka to meet

Lostsunrise [7]

Step-by-step explanation:

There are certain methods for solving a system of equations. Some of which are:

  • Substitution Method
  • Elimination Method
  • Graphing Method

Substitution Method

Substitution method to solve a system of equations is suitable if a variable of a any equation seems isolated or could comfortably be isolated without any ration/fraction resulting.

For example, for the following system of equations

x - 2y = 11....[A]

x = 5 - y....[B]

substituting the value of x = 5 - y from equation [B] into equation [A], so that

(5 - y) - 2y = 11

5 - y - 2y = 11

3y = -6

y = -2

Elimination Method

Elimination method to solve a system of equations is suitable if both equation are in standard form, and just adding or subtracting the equations to determine an equation in one variable.

For example, for the following system of equations

2x + 7y = -5....[C]

5x - 7y = 12....[D]

Adding Equation [C] and Equation [D].

7x + 0 = 7

x = 1

Graphing Method

Sometimes graphing method may be used to solve the system of the equation and visualize the solution.

For example,

y = -2....[E]

y = 3x + 1....[F]

The solution for this system of equation is the point of intersection of both the lines, which is shown in attached figure. The point of intersection is (-1, -2).

Hence, the solution of this system of equations is (-1, -2), as shown in attached figure.

Answer:

The equation of the quadratic function shown is;

x^2+ 2x -3

Step-by-step explanation:

Here in this question, we need to know the quadratic equation whose graph was shown.

The key to answering this lies in knowing the roots of the equation.

The roots of the equation are the solution to the quadratic equation and can be seen from the graph at the point where the quadratic equation crosses the x-axis.

The graph crosses the x-axis at two points.

These are at the points x = -3 and x = 1

So what we have are;

x + 3 and x -1

Multiplying both will give us the quadratic equation we are looking for.

(x + 3)(x-1) = x(x -1) + 3(x-1)

= x^2 -x + 3x -3 = x^2 + 2x -3

Tanzania [10]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

1. If m<2 = 32°

the measure for m<4 is 148°

x + 32° = 180°

x = 148°

measure of m<6 = 148° alternate interior of m<4

2. If m<1 = 65°, then m<2 and m<3  are also 65°

Both m<2 and m<3 are vertical angles therefore they are 65°

m<1 and m<2 are corresponding angles therefore they are 65°
