Answer:

D. the desire to have greater access to international markets.

Explanation:

This is one of the main reasons why America was interested in engaging in imperialism. America was a capitalist economy with a strong industry, and because of this, it relied heavily on trade. One of the reasons why the country wanted to have a presence in other regions was because of a desire to have greater access to international markets.

Why should huckleberry finn be taught in classrooms?
Alecsey [184]

As it is banned around schools everywhere, it should be taught to show students the past. Teachers who are teaching it still with advisory from others have stated that it is the best read of their career. The students enjoyed it and the teacher enjoyed it as well. The book has children who are rebellious, illiterate, and more. Students enjoy this book, so why ban it? Officials banned this book due to its somehow racist language and think it's inappropriate for children. Children aren't the ones reading it, it's normally students over 10th grade. As if we've never heard any of these words before or faced these problems.

Read the excerpt from The People Could Fly So [the alligators] all be quiet. Until the fire flare real high and close. . . . The
loris [4]

Answer:

The word "swink" probably means that a lot of effort has been made.

Explanation:

In the text shown above, we can see that the crocodiles worked hard to escape the fire, but all their efforts were in vain. The text presents contextual clues that this effort was violent and intensive even if it did not achieve results, that is, the crocodiles tried to get rid of the fire, but they did not succeed. This very significant effort is directly associated with the word "swink" presented in the text, which allows us to consider that this word means that something laborious and that requires great effort and concentration is being carried out.
