The Declaration of Independence was written so America declared their independence from England. America sought independence at that time because the colonies felt that they were not given a voice in the British Parliament, because of that they believed that their rights were being impeded by the British. The Declaration was very much influenced by Enlightenment ideals, such as the right to revolt against a tyrannical government.
