Here is your answer:

Independent Variable: Is a variable that is being tested..

Dependent Variable: Is a variable that's being measured.

So in this case.

The independent variable is water bottles in a case.

Dependent Variable: Is how many water bottles are in a case.

For this next part I'm not sure.

But as you look at the graph you see a pattern.

1×24=24

Etc...

So the equation will be: 1×24

The pattern is 24.

So....
1×24=24
2×24=48
5×24=120
10×24=240
20×24=480

Hope this Helps.

What is the function rule that describes the pattern in the table?
Semmy [17]
The answer is D. You can rule out A and B by looking at the x value of 0 because the corresponding y value is 7 so you need to add 7 to a number multiplied by 0. And then you know it's not C because if you plug in the 0 for x it doesn't work.

Find the domain for the function f(x) = the quotient of the square root of the quantity x minus 3 and the quantity x minus 5.
Daniel [21]

f(x) =  sqrt [( x - 3) / (x - 5)]

well x cannot be 5  because  that would make  x - 5 = 0.

Also the fraction x - 3 / x - 5 cannot be negative because theres no real square root of a negative.

So  x must be <= 3 or  > 5

In interval notation the domain is ( -∞,3] or (5 , ∞)

kicyunya [14]

Answer:

3/8 is smaller than 8/10. Just by comparing the denominators you can decide how big or small the fraction will be. If its a larger number, its a smaller fraction.

marishachu [46]
36 minutes.

(1/20)x+(1/30)x=1solve for x (x=0.8333333333......)
Considering they take the same times for all 3 pounds,
That would mean that since 1 pound takes 12 minutes, then 3 pounds take 36 minutes

Solve this URGENT! Differentiation
Sophie [7]

Instead of using the quotient rule, you can first expand <em>y</em> :

<em>y</em> = (4<em>x</em> - 1)^2 / <em>x</em> ^2 = (16<em>x</em> ^2 - 8<em>x</em> + 1) / <em>x</em> ^2 = 16 - 8/<em>x</em> + 1/<em>x</em> ^2

Then the derivative is

d<em>y</em>/d<em>x</em> = -8/<em>x</em> ^2 - 2/<em>x</em> ^3

The tangent to the curve at (-1, 25) then has a slope or gradient of

d<em>y</em>/d<em>x</em> = -8/(-1)^2 - 2/(-1)^3 = -6
