You could make a picture of a child doing chores that adults would do like, going on the roof of their house and pulling leaves out of the gutters, or being forced to fix a car. Pretty much a child being forced to do chores that can threaten their life. You can glue whatever you draw inside the cardboard box and make a shadow box. Hope this helps! ^_^

what does lincoln mean when he says "neither anticipated that the cause of the conflict might cease with, or even before, the co
slava [35]

This is a fragmant of President Lincoln´s speech of March 4th, 1865, during his second inaugural address, in which he  refers to the Civil War. Due to the tone of the message, is evident that President Lincoln wants to send a general message of reconciliation and peace. This is evidnet in the cited lines, in which he is trying to explain that after all, the outcome of the war couldn´t really be anticipated by any of the parties, particularly in the lenght and magnitude of the war.

Hayden alludes to "Oh! Susanna" in line 34. Do some independent research on the context and history of this traditional American
s2008m [1.1K]

Answer:

This allusion supports the search for freedom and the difficult world of runaway slaves.

Explanation:

Oh Susanna is a popular song part of the minstrel tradition in which African Americans were made fun of and depicted as simple and ignorant. The original song has a verse in which the protagonist talks about killing black men along the way during the Gold Rush. This verse and other racist remarks of the original text have been taken out over the years. The use of this allusion in the poem Runagate Runagate by Hayden, expresses the urge to find freedom, even if it meant struggles, hardship or even death. It is, at the end, an allusion that reminds the reader of the will and the defiance needed to run away.
