9/10 is greater.

If you have two pizzas one with eight slices and one with 10 slice if you leave 9/10 and 6/8 of the pizza you will have more of the 9/10.

9/10 Convert them both to the least common denominator, 40
So 6/8 muliply 8x5 to get 40 and 6x5 to get 30 so the 6/8 is now equal to 30/40. Then multiply 10x4=40 then 9x4=36 so the 9/10 is equal to 36/40. Compare 30/40 to 36/40. 36/40 is greater and 36/40 is 9/10

Emily has 300 books. if frank were to double the number of books that he now owns, he would still have fewer than Emily has
Alex_Xolod [135]
This statement is false.
If he were to double the amount that Emily has to get franks, franks would have more.
Look :)
Emily's = 300
Frank's = 300 x 2 = 600

now...
Emily's = 300
Frank's = 600

So frank has more! NOT fewer.

The function a(1) =1/2I^2 describes the area of an isosceles right triangle with leg I. Make a table of values for I=1,2,3 and 4
prohojiy [21]

Functions can be represented using equations, graphs and tables.

The function is given as:

a(l) = \frac 12 l^2

When l = 1, we have:

a(1) = \frac 12 \times 1^2

a(1) = 0.5

When l = 2, we have:

a(2) = \frac 12 \times 2^2

a(2) = 2.0

When l = 3, we have:

a(3) = \frac 12 \times 3^2

a(3) = 4.5

When l = 4, we have:

a(4) = \frac 12 \times 4^2

a(4) = 8.0

Represent the above results as a table, we have:

<u>l          a(l)</u>

1          0.5

2         2.0

3          4.5

4          8.0

A Web music store offers two versions of a popular song. The size of the standard version is 2.1 megabytes (MB). The size of the
liq [111]
If the number of downloads of the standard version is x, and the high quality is x, 2.1*x+4.1*y=2761 (not 1010 due to that this is multiplied by 2.1 and 4.1, therefore representing the total amount of megabytes) In addition, there are 1010 total downloads, and it's either 2.1 MB or 4.1 MB, so x+y=1010.

We have
2.1x+4.1y=2761
x+y=1010

Multiplying the second equation by -2.1 and adding it to the first equation, we get 2y=2761-1010*2.1=640 and by dividing both sides by 2 we get y=320 downloads of the high quality version
