In his first inaugural address, Abraham Lincoln stated the following: All profess to be content in the Union if all constitution

al rights can be maintained. Is it true, then, that any right plainly written in the Constitution has been denied? I think not. Happily, the human mind is so constituted that no party can reach to the audacity of doing this. Think, if you can, of a single instance in which a plainly written provision of the Constitution has ever been denied. If by the mere force of numbers a majority should deprive a minority of any clearly written constitutional right, it might in a moral point of view justify revolution; certainly would if such right were a vital one. But such is not our case. What does this quote say about Lincoln's feelings about the South's discontent?

1. What was William Paterson's main contribution to the Constitutional Convention?
tankabanditka [31]

The main contribution of William Paterson  was to protect the rights as well as look after  the small states.

Explanation:

William Paterson was the person who started the New Jersey Plan. His main aim was to help the small states to protect their rights. According to this plan in the Congress each state must be having equal representative. He was not ready to accept the proportional representation because he always feared that the small states will be ignored their interest will not be given any priority.

As his proposal was not accepted so he made decision to leave the convention in the end of July but later returned in September when his proposal was accepted and he signed the constitution.
