Question

This is not school related but i could really use help. i recently got a top, that i cant return, and the straps are to long. could someone, who knows what they're doing, walk me through the steps of making them shorter? i have some experience with basic sewing skills. i dont have a sewing machine, but i have a needle and thread and fabric glue. if someone could help me it would be very much appreciated :) i attached pictures and below is a little description.
AE square neck cropped tank top
size small
it has two layers of fabric and is pretty thick

You have to fold the straps and if you don’t want the fold to be visible fold them under the back of the shirt

Fold the straps on a side where the strap ends to your wanting length and just sew it multiple times till a clean hold.
