Answer/Explanation:

Under the Lend-Lease Act, the United States sent enormous quantities of war materiel to the Soviet Union, which was critical in helping the Soviets withstand the Nazi onslaught. By the end of 1942, the Nazi advance into the Soviet Union had stalled; it was finally reversed at the epic battle of Stalingrad in 1943.

How is cultural exchange a part of globalization
pickupchik [31]

cultural exchange is the act of sharing ones culture with another to improve understanding and making new friendships. This can help in globalization because a country can have a great influence on other countries if they have an alliance with other countries. The exchange of cultures can be beneficial to the world because it can lead to the booming of very profitable businesses such as google and Microsoft and Sony. Without cultural exchange there also wouldn't be any peace because without that understanding between countries this can lead to tensions between them because no country knows what the other is gonna do. All in all culural exchange is mandatory to promote peace and prosperity between nations.

Sauron [17]

Answer:

2. By morning, most of the Yuan ships had disappeared. According to a Japanese courtier in his diary entry for 6 November 1274, a sudden reverse wind from the east blew back the Yuan fleet. A few ships were beached and some 50 Yuan soldiers and sailors were captured and executed.

4. Japan responded by beheading the six envoys and prepared for a second attack from the Mongols by taking a census of all available weaponry and warriors. All of Kyushu's landowning class was also tasked to build a defensive wall around Hakata Bay measuring five to fifteen feet high and 25 miles long

5. Kublai Khan's second invasion fleet was a whole lot bigger than the first one.

John Locke thiught people were neither good nor bad naturally. How did Hobbes views differ from lockes
ruslelena [56]

Answer: Hobbes believed people were naturally selfish and violent.

Further explanation:

Both English philosophers believed there is a "social contract" -- that governments are formed by the will of the people. But their theories on why people want to live under governments were very different.

Thomas Hobbes published his political theory in Leviathan in 1651, following the chaos and destruction of the English Civil War. He saw human beings as naturally suspicious of one another, in competition with each other, and evil toward one another as a result. Forming a government meant giving up personal liberty, but gaining security against what would otherwise be a situation of every person at war with every other person.

John Locke published his Two Treatises on Civil Government in 1690, following the mostly peaceful transition of government power that was the Glorious Revolution in England. Locke believed people are born as blank slates--with no preexisting knowledge or moral leanings. Experience then guides them to the knowledge and the best form of life, and they choose to form governments to make life and society better.

In teaching the difference between Hobbes and Locke, I've often put it this way. If society were playground basketball, Hobbes believed you must have a referee who sets and enforces rules, or else the players will eventually get into heated arguments and bloody fights with one another, because people get nasty in competition that way. Locke believed you could have an enjoyable game of playground basketball without a referee, but a referee makes the game better because then any disputes that come up between players have a fair way of being resolved. Of course, Hobbes and Locke never actually wrote about basketball -- a game not invented until 1891 in America by James Naismith. But it's just an illustration I've used to try to show the difference of ideas between Hobbes and Locke. :-)
