This is how you solve this problem:
.10d + .05n = 5.25

(plug in the number of dimes we have)

(21 x .1) + .05n = 5.25

(multiply number of dimes x value of the dime)

2.10 + .05n = 5.25

(subtract 2.10 from both sides)

.05n = 3.15

(divide both sides by .05 to get the number of nickels)

n = 63 nickels

Hope this helps!

fredd [130]
Answer:
$26.32

step-by-step explanation:
it originally was $40.00
she has a coupon for 30%
30% of 40.00 is 12
40 • 0.30 = 12
40 - 12
$28
it is now $28 after the coupon
her state charges an 6% sales tax on the discounted price
6% of 28 is 1.68
28 • 0.06 = 1.68
28 - 1.68 = 26.32

jasenka [17]

Answer:

7. C(N(h))=33hx+460h

8. about $13.94 is the cost

Step-by-step explanation:

7. C(x)=(33x+460)(N(h))=(N(40)h)--C(x)=(33x+460)(40h)--C(x)=1320hx+18400h--simplified to C(N(h))=33hx+460h

8. C(N(10))=33(10)x+460(10)--C(N(10))=330x+4600--4600/330=about13.94

Help!!!i need it quick
Eddi Din [679]

Answer:

A linear function is written as:

y = a*x + b

Where a is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

An exponential equation is written as:

y = A*(r)^x

Where A is the initial quantity and r is the rate of growth.

If a and A are both positives, the similar characteristic of both types of functions is that as x increases, then the value of y will also increase. Then both functions are increasing functions.

They are different in how they increase, while a linear function increases at a constant rate, an exponential function increases slow at the beginning and really fast as x increases, as you can see in the image below where we compare the two types of functions, the green one is the linear function, and the blue one is the exponential function.
