The model we'll use is b. 5/3 = 40/w
The mass of the shorter bar is 24 kg.

To solve for the problem, using the formula above, it will looks like this

5/3 = 40/w -- cross multiply

(5)(w) = (40)(3)

5w = 120 -- isolate the w

5w/5 = 120/5

w= 24

A component in a music system has a life expectancy of 2,400 hours with a standard deviation of 300 hours. If an average person
satela [25.4K]
The answer to the math probability question you are presenting above would be .475 or (47.5%). The value of 3 years multiplied by 1000 would equal to 3000, thus the person will listen to music 3000 hours a year - which is two standard deviations than the mean. Following the empirical rule, the answer would be .475.

Find the absolute maximum value for the function f(x) = x^2 − 4, on the interval [–3, 0) U (0, 2].
Andreyy89

Answer:

5

Step-by-step explanation:

The function y=x^2 -4 is

  • decreasing for all x\in [-3,0);
  • is increasing for all x\in (0,2]

(see attached diagram for details).

The maximum value of the function is at endpoints -3 or 2. find y(-3) and y(2):

y(-3)=(-3)^2-4=9-4=5\\ \\y(2)=4^2-4=0

So, the maximum value is 5.
