San Antonio was the seat of power for the Tejas area. Even though, Texas was not an individual state (it was part of the larger state of Coahuila y Tejas) it still had and did many of the things that other states did. THE size and population of Texas demanded that it have a more local regional government than the one located hundreds of miles away in Coahuila. The city became even more sought after during the Revolution. Santa Anna thought that taking San Antonio would help to squash the rebellion. However the Battle of the Alamo became an inspiration for the Texians and Tejanos fighting for freedom.
Following the German invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939 hundreds of thousands of Jews and other Polish citizens fled eastward ahead of the advancing German army; many refugees found at least temporary safety in Lithuania. Options for escape were limited and required diplomatic visas to cross international borders. One route was through Asia using a combination of permits issued by foreign envoys responding to the refugee crisis: a bogus visa for entrance to the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao and a visa for transit through Japan.

The tradition began with the current Queen's grandfather, King George V, in 1932.
When he died, his eldest son, King Edward VIII, did not deliver a Christmas message due to his abdication of the throne.
Edward's younger brother, King George VI, resumed the practice (albeit sporadically at first).
After George's death, his daughter, Queen Elizabeth II, who is the current Queen of England, continued the tradition set by her father.
So in total, that gives us three monarchs who have delivered a Royal Christmas Message:
1) George V
2) George VI
3) Elizabeth II
