I'm not sure what he answer to the second part is, but for the first part, find the area of the whole figure, so multiply 15.5 by 10.4 to get 161.2. then find the area of the semi circles and since there are 2 of them, it is one full circle so use the formula for the area of a circle, A=(pi)r^2, to find the area of the semicircles. when you substitute and solve, you get about 84.95. then subtract the semicircles' area from the rectangle's area to get 76.25.

Two workers, a trainer and a trainee, working together can do a job in 3 hours. The trainer is 3 times faster than the trainee t
Flauer [41]

Answer:

4 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

Ratio of working together

Job : number of hours

1 : 3 = 1/3

Trainer

Job : number of hours

1 : x = 1/x

Trainee

Job : number of hours

1 : 3x = 1/3x

1/x + 1/3x = 1/3

Multiply through by 3x

3x(1/x) + 3x(1/3x) = 3x(1/3)

3 + 1 = x

4 = x

x = 4 hours

It takes the trainee 4 hours to finish the job

I've tried and I have no clue how to do this.
Natasha_Volkova [10]
This isn't to diffuclt. So, to the formula for the area of a circle is 2\pi r, or instead of r, you can put D, which is r times 2

The diameteris 2.5, so, the answer would be

pi times 2.5, where pie = 3.14

So, the answer is 2.5 * 3.14 = 7.85 or 7.9
