So we need to start by finding the total price which would be $150 because $130 + $20 would equal $150. Next thing we need to do is find out how many people we have and we have 5 people. We can figure that out by seeing it states “Dolores and four friends” which indicates there is 1 + 4 which would equal 5 then we would divide these 2 numbers we came up with ($150/5) to get $30 each person. Each person paid $30 for the buffet.

If f (x) = startroot one-half x minus 10 endroot 3, which inequality can be used to find the domain of f(x)? startroot one-half
tankabanditka [31]

A function assigns values. The inequality one-half x minus 10 greater-than-or-equal-to 0 should be satisfied.

<h3>What is a Function?</h3>

A function assigns the value of each element of one set to the other specific element of another set.

The domain of a function is a set of values for which the equation is satisfied. Since the function has under root values, the value which is under the root should be non-negative so that it does not give a complex number,  therefore,

The inequality \sqrt{\dfrac12x^2-10}\geq 0satisfied to find the domain of the function f(x).

Also, we can write that 0.5x²-10≥0 for the value to be positive.

Hence, the inequality one-half x minus 10 greater-than-or-equal-to 0 should be satisfied.

The perimeter of triangle ABC is 54. the triangle has side lengths AB=3x, BC=4x, AC=5x. Find the length of each side.
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]

The perimeter of a triangle is the sum of its sides. So, we have

P = \overline{AB}+\overline{BC}+\overline{AC}

We have an exact value for the perimeter, and variable expressions for the sides. Let's substitute the formula above with what we're given:

54 = 3x+4x+5x = 12x

If you divide both sides by 12, you have

x = \dfrac{54}{12} = 4.5

So, the lengths of the sides are

AB = 3x = 3\times 4.5 = 13.5

BC = 4x = 4\times 4.5 = 18

AC = 5x = 5\times 4.5 = 22.5

A truck can be rented from Company A for $100 a day plus $0.20 per mile. Company B charges $60 a day plus $0.70 per mile to
denis23 [38]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

First, we write the rental cost with each company:

Company A Pa = 100 + 0.2*m

Company B Pb = 60 + 0.7*m

Where m: miles travelled

Now, we need to find "number of miles in a day at which the rental costs for Company A and Company B are the same". This means Pa = Pb. Then:

100 + 0.2*m = 60 + 0.7*m

Solving the equation for m by taking 0.2m and 60 on both sides:

100 + 0.2*m - 0.2*m - 60 = 60 + 0.7*m - 0.2*m - 60

40 = 0.5*m

Finally, dividing 0.5 on both sides:

m = 80
