It was confusing and frightening, not in a way I could untangle. I was safe in my tree, and the men who fought were nothing to m

e, except of course that they talked in something akin to my language, which meant that we were, incredibly, related. I was sickened, if only at the waste of it: all they killed—cows, horses, men—they left to rot or burn. –Grendel, John Gardner How is Grendel characterized in this passage?

Marina CMI [18]

Answer:

This is Shakespeare's Sonnet 45.

In this sonnet, he finds himself in continous fluctuation between joy and sorrow. This is as a result of the absence of the one he loved. His thoughts were always moving to and fro between him and his love.

Actually, this sonnet relates to his previous sonnet. He finds that his thoughts and desires are not so much in himself, as with his beloved (hence present-absent.)

Substances were said to be made up of fire, air, earth and water. But when a substance is deprived of two of them, air and fire, (the other two) which correspond to thought and desire, the body responds and sinks into melancholy and decay.

Which statement best captures Zimbardo’s point of view regarding the Abu Ghraib prison abuses?
DanielleElmas [232]
Zimbardo does not justify their actions, only explains how these abuses likelydeveloped under certain conditions.
In the article, Zimbardo refers to his own experiments about human behavior in certain conditions to explain the reasons behind the soldiers' behavior. He states that their mental state allowed for their actions because of "stress, fear, boredom and heat exhaustion, coupled with no supervision, no training, and no accountability." In the text he never states that their behavior is acceptable or justified given the conditions, he is merely explaining how good people can do bad things.

Lynna [10]
Answer: D. auto-mobile

If you are going to divide -the word automobile at the end of the line, make sure that each of the part still expresses an idea. You cannot divide it by -aut-omobile" because there is no such word as "aut" and " omobile" and so do with "autom-obile".
