Use your journal to sketch out a story that you could set in the Klondike Gold Rush. Describe a possible main character, a theme
Kitty [74]

Answer:

Hey! I'll try to help you as much as I possibly can.

A possible Main Character: (please Please PLEASE keep in mind that this is fiction)

Katherine: A Young girl of 16 trying to find her father who rushed off to the Klondlike Goldrush. Her father has not been writing anymore letters. or answering them for that matter. So Katherine thinks it's up to her to bring her father home.

Theme: Family, Friendship, Love, and Perseverance.

Event for Family: Obviously, this event will include her father. You could have someone offer Katherine a lot of money in exchange for her father (people did that back in the day, which is pretty sad) But Katherine says "No." and that shows that family is important.

Event for Perseverance: You could have Katherine go through many different trials and bumps along the way to finding  her father. She could almost drown, get killed by a bear, and have trouble hiking up a mountain.

Event for Love: Many great stories have romance in them. Try giving Katherine a smart, handsome young man named Peter. Who helps her find her father and (perhaps) gets married to her in the end.

Event for friendship: Have Katherine make many friends along the way. It doesn't matter who they are, but make sure to let her expierience friendship.

I truly hope I have helped! :)

Based on the information presented in "i believe in the also rans" what is one message the reader can infer
nadezda [96]

Answer:

winning does not necessarily mean achieving the first position.

Explanation:

In the short essay "I Believe in the Also-Rans " by Clive B, the author attempts to remind the readers how achievements in schools and universities have very little to do once we enter the real world.

He thinks that humans are depressed because we glorify winning and achieving great heights too much. Clive realizes this when he notice how Cyrus, one among his daughter's two playmates, proclaims and shout in celebration that he won the third place in the race although there were only three of them.

The one message that we can infer from this essay is winning does not necessarily mean achieving the first position. It can also mean accomplishing or completing the race.

You do not need to use complete sentences in the body section of the speech outline.
Nonamiya [84]

Answer:

b. False.

Explanation:

Preparing a speech outline does not necessarily mean one can forgo the 'normal' ways or patterns of speeches. This means that even though it is a preparation of a speech outline, a person must use complete sentences rather than phrases.

Using complete sentences in the preparation of the outlines of a speech will help the person judge and see if there is coherence in the prepared speech. It presents the speaker to find the mistakes and correct whatever is necessary. This will also make sure that the intended speech does not have any issues before it is given in front of an audience.

Thus, the correct answer is false.
