School garden supporters say that the gardens teach to the whole child. One of the strongest benefits is to social and emotional
mamaluj [8]

Answer:

All though the two arguments are correct, I lean towards the 2nd argument. School gardens do not improve student's scores as they would if the student was well educated. The student will not learn from a garden. The surroundings will be better but can not help them. As it states in the second claim "America’s test scores continue to lag behind". Even if we have school gardens. But, the first argument is right in a way if the student is already well educated and knows the curriculum there surrounding may improve their learning by wanting to learn because they are more comfortable. These claims are strong because they do have facts and claims from others. They lean towards one side and are informative.

Hope this helps. : )

Technology replacing teachers: Advantages and Disadvantages

In modern day world, technology is a word that we start our day with. Be it any sphere of life, technology has conquered it all. With new advancements and modern techniques, technology has engulfed our education system and is replacing teachers with robot tutors, classrooms with satellite classes, and interactive sessions with online learning platforms.

The advantages of technology replacing teachers is that each student now have access to education. Gone are the days when students from remote areas had to travel miles to attend classes. Thanks to the advancement in technology students now have access to study material which can be read anytime as per his/her convenience. Every student has a different learning pace, when in class, a teacher cannot individually mentor each student and might overlook small errors made by students. However, this is not the case with robot tutors. There are various cloud apps and software that guide students according to their individual needs. Now a student is not restricted to just a 6 hour classroom to have access to knowledge, the AI software of teaching has made the teaching-learning process much simpler and convenient. From an institution’s point of view, it will also save the cost of brick and mortar buildings, retirement benefits, health benefits and even pay raises.

By far we read that how technology can be a great tool for learning. But it cannot replace the value that a human provides in nourishing a child. The replacement of human teachers with artificial intelligence comes with its own set of disadvantages. There’s no denying the fact that technology cannot give an emotional support that is required for the all-round development of a student. A machine teacher can provide us with knowledge of any subject but it cannot share with us the real-life experiences that a human can guide us with. A computer program will never be able to build an emotional relationship which is crucial for teaching-learning process. it is programmed to follow a certain set of rules and instructions and will do so mechanically.

The bottom line is that there may be number of benefits of using technology in the classroom but computer technology is simply aiding to the teaching learning process, it cannot completely take over the role of human teachers.

Have you seen examples of herd mentality in your community, between friends and at school ? Discuss this. Do you think it is a g
statuscvo [17]

Answer and Explanation:

Have you seen examples of herd mentality in your community, between friends and at school ? Discuss this.

Yes, I have. As we know, herd mentality refers to the influence peers can have over others' behaviors. That is, people will do things because others are or seem to be doing them. Those decisions are highly based on emotion instead of rational thinking. I believe I see examples of herd mentality all the time, not only at school, but in society in general. The need to buy the latest phone, for instance, without duly taking the time to consider the investment made when buying the previous phone - which, by the way, still works just fine.

Do you think it is a good thing or a bad thing? Explain why.

Because herd mentality leads to irrational behavior, I believe it is, in general, a bad thing. Herd mentality is often behind aggressive behavior seen at stadiums, or bullying at schools, for example. People do not take the time to reflect, but simply act impulsively. However, there are examples of cases when herd mentality works for the good. For instance, when several people will stand in a circle around someone who has suffered an accident in order to prevent vehicles from hurting that person even more. This is an irrational behavior - people are giving up their own safety -, but it is done with a beautiful, selfless purpose. However, to my mind, examples such as this one are a minority when it comes to herd mentality.
