Use graphs, and tables to find the limit, and identify any vertical asymptotes of the function. Limit of 1 divided by quantity x minus 10^2 as approaches 10 from the left.

The function f(x) = 1/(x - 10)

The table list values of f(x) for several x - values approaches 10 from left.

Observe Table, and Graph:
So, when X approaches 10 from the left (x - 10) is a small negative number. Thus, the quotient 1/(x - 10) is a large negative number and f(x) approaches negative infinity from the left side of the x = 10. Therefore, we can conclude that x = 10 is a Vertical Asymptote of the Graph of f(x) and lim x ----10  f(x) = lim x ---- 10   1/x - 10 =  - infinity.

What is the approximate value of log6 1944 if log6(9)is approximately 1.2263
il63 [147K]

log_{6}(1944)  =  log_{6}(324 \times 6)  \\  log_{6}(18 {}^{2}  \times 6)  =  log_{6}((3 \times 6)  {}^{2}  \times 6)  \\  log_{6}(3 {}^{2} \times 6 {}^{2}   \times 6)  \\  \\  log_{6}(9)  +  log_{6}(6 {}^{3} ) =  1.2263 + 3 \\ 4.2263

Find the x- and y-intercepts of the line.<br> 4x – 2y = 3
WARRIOR [948]

Answer:

You have to find the values of each variable when the other is 0. FOr example, you plug in 0 for y and solve as x and that will be the x-intercept.

Jeremy is taking a photography class, but he doesn't own a camera. The class organizers will rent him a camera for $6 per day. J
snow_tiger [21]

Answer:

he can rent the camera for 5 days and will have $5 left over

Step-by-step explanation: he only has $50 , and he has to pay 15 to register which will leave him with 35 left over and then he pays $6 each day and it would be 5 days of renting.

50-15+35

6x5=30 which means he pays $6 everyday for 5 days

which will leave $5 left over

If BC = 5, DE = 9, and AB = 4, what is the length of AD?<br><br><br> 7<br> 8<br> 7.2<br> 7.5
steposvetlana [31]

There are two triangles here: ABC and ADF. These triangles are similar, and thus proportional. So, we can set up a proportion between the left side of each triangle and the base of each triangle.

AB / AD = BC / DE

4 / (4 + BD) = 5 / 9

---AD is made up of AB and DB. We know AB, but not BD, so we need to find its value to find the length of AD.

5(4 + BD) = 9 x 4

20 + 5BD = 36

5BD = 16

BD = 3.2

AD = AB + BD

AD = 4 + 3.2

AD = 7.2

Hope this helps!
