Since it's angle side angle, just use law of sine,
a/sin(A)=c/sin(C)
find C first by subtracting 16 and 72 from 180
C=92
get c is about 58

We will solve using the Law of Sines.
Angle C = 180- 72-16 = 92 degrees.
a/SinA = c/SinC
a = cSinA/SinC
a= 61Sin(72)/Sin(92) = 58.0

What is the solution set of 2x(x - 1) = 3?
garik1379 [7]

First you must distribute the 2x to the numbers inside the parentheses

(2x * x) + (2x * -1) = 3

2x^{2} - 2x = 3

To make this a quadratic equation you can solve bring the 3 over to the left side of the equation by subtracting it to both sides

2x^{2} - 2x - 3 = 0

Use the quadratic equation to solve this (image of the quadratic equation is below)

Remember that quadratic functions are set up like so:

ax^{2} +bx +c = 0

That means that in this equation...

a = 2

b = -2

c = -3

^^^Plug these numbers into the quadratic equation and solve...

\frac{2+/-\sqrt{(-2)^{2}-4(2)(-3)}}{2(2)}

\frac{2 +/-\sqrt{4+24}}{4}

\frac{2+/-\sqrt{28} }{4}

\frac{2+/-2\sqrt{7} }{4}

\frac{1+/-\sqrt{7} }{2}

Keep in mind that +/- is ±

\frac{1+\sqrt{7} }{2}

\frac{1-\sqrt{7} }{2}

^^^Exact answers

Hope this helped!

cricket20 [7]

Answer:

We get the value of Principal amount i.e initial investment = $61640

Step-by-step explanation:

Interest rate r = 3.59% or 0.0359

Compounded quarterly n = 4

Future Amount A = 117,300

Time t = 18 years

We need to find initial investment i,e Principal Amount P

The formula used is: A=P(1+\frac{r}{n})^{nt}

Putting values and finding P

A=P(1+\frac{r}{n})^{nt}\\117300=P(1+\frac{0.0359}{4})^{4*18} \\117300=P(1+0.008975)^{72}\\117300=P(1.008975)^{72}\\117300=P(1.903)\\P=\frac{117300}{1.903}\\P=61640

So, We get the value of Principal amount i.e initial investment = $61640
