<span>Before the civil war, slavery expanded in the south rather then in the north because, the north was primarily factories and the south was primarily agriculture. Agriculture required more hands on labor than factories. </span>
The Civil War was not entirely caused by Lincoln's election, but the election was one of the primary reasons the war broke out the following year. Lincoln's decision to fight rather than to let the Southern states secede was not based on his feelings towards slavery.

The moral majority has declined because it was based in christian values. Now that more and more people are atheist, the idea of deeply rooted morals is lessening. Though this is what America wants, it honestly is not good for the country, as we all know that morals are a very good thing to have, and letting good morals guide a country is a very good thing.
