Which statement best describes the effects of the 1851 Treaty of Fort Laramie?
NNADVOKAT [17]
The statement that best describes the effects of the 1851 Treaty of Fort Laramie is: D. The Indians crossed artificial boundaries, setting the stage for conflict.
The 1851 Treaty of Fort Laramie was an attempt to get the various Native American tribal nations to agree on boundaries and to stop fighting with one another, as well as allowing safe travel to settlers traveling the Oregon Trail. The treaty was broken soon after it was made, as the Lakota and Cheyenne peoples battled with the Crow, and further problems followed. A second Treaty of Fort Laramie was signed between the US government and a number of Indian nations in 1868, after the failure of that first treaty.

The fifth amendment guarantees that no person can be made to witness himself in court this means that a person cannot be forced
Semmy [17]
Well the only way I can explain is that back in older days, the good cop bad cop was a thing and they would beat and harass people into admitting a crime they didn't commit to save the time of going to court and searching the real guy. This was mostly so public police didn't take it upon themselves to "sentence" innocent people before the court had a say.
