Explain why there is a difference in the amount of oxygen taken in at rest and during the vigorous activity.
s2008m [1.1K]

Answer: During vigorous exercise your breathing rate increases in order to intake more oxygen

Explanation: during vigorous exercise / activity the body needs more oxygen in order to produce energy so your breathing rate increases in order to reach the demand of more intake of oxygen , and your muscles work harder due to an increase in oxygen demand and how much oxygen the muscles take from the blood during vigorous exercises , BUT during rest we have normal rate of oxygen intake because your body is at rest at that moment .

HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do biological systems contradict the second law of thermodynamics? by taking energy from their surroundings and synthesizing lar
Bogdan [553]
Biological systems do not contradict the second law of thermodynamics. Even in this case, entropy is still always increasing. Biological systems can only decrease their own entropy by using copious amounts of energy and by increasing entropy in their surrounding environment. Also, unfavorable anabolism reactions are always paired with more favorable reactions, such as the use of ATP in order to make the overall Gibb's free energy of the reaction negative.

In species where males provide the bulk of the parental care, males are most likely to
aivan3 [116]
This question is incomplete. The options are:
a. be choosy about which females they mate with.
b. be indiscriminant about which females they mate with.
c. mate with as many females as possible.
d. compete to mate with choosy females.

The answer is a: be choosy about which females they mate with.
This is because the male would in this case be investing a lot of energy in parenting its young, and would therefore adopt a strategy of mating with one or very few females. It therefore makes sense that the male would be choosy in regards to its mate.
