The statement is true as both systems, muscular and cardiovascular, can be overloaded during exercise.

Further Explanation:

Overload is defined as when the body is adapted to a certain level and amount of exercise, progressive increase of the exercise load is required for any further improvement. This is known as progressive overloading.

The cardiovascular system can be overloaded in two ways. First is by pressure overload where peripheral resistance is increased in the circulatory system. To overcome this resistance, the heart has to pump harder and it leads to high blood pressure and hypertension. The second way of overloading cardiovascular system is by exercise, the volume overload method. In this, larger volume of blood is pumped than normal which overloads the cardiac muscle. This can be attained by doing exercises that involve large muscle groups for prolonged time periods, especially in continuous activities. Some of these exercises include jogging, walking, dancing, and cycling.

While doing exercise, the muscular system can also be overloaded either mechanically or metabolically. For example, resistance exercises can lead to overload of muscular system resulting in leaner muscles.

Both the systems can be overloaded while exercising by changing variables like intensity, duration, or frequency of exercise. This will result in an improvement of cardiovascular system and muscular system of the body.

Answer: a. True

Volume overloading is a mode of exercise where both muscular and cardiovascular systems can both be overloaded. With this type of exercise, the circulatory systems tends to pump more volume of blood than the usual as large muscle groups work on prolonged periods of time.

Which of the following is part of the peripheral nervous system?
rosijanka [135]
There are many parts of the peripheral nervous system, but options are not listed below.

I will use my best prediction using deductive reasoning to proves which is part of the PNS - peripheral nervous system.

The peripheral nervous system is defined as a bundle of neurons, that is neither the brain or spine (which is in the CNS - central nervous system)

As you may know the PNS, is broken down into two pieces.

The autonomic and somatic nervous system.

The autonomic nervous system as you may know is the part of the PNS, that controls involuntary activities. e.x breathing, heartrate, blood pressure, temperature, etc.

The somatic nervous system on the other hand is voluntary, and is associated with the feelings of the body. (heat, cold, touch, smell)
