How do you subtract whole numbers with decimals (15-0.4352)

So for decimals, add the number of zeroes after the whole number to equal the amount of digits in the decimal value. For example, if you had 10 and 0.5 you would replace 10 with 10.0 to match the amount of digits after the decimal in 0.5

In your problem since we have four digits after the decimal, let's add a decimal and four digits after the number 15 to match it up. Now it should look like the image attached.

Once matched up you can now safely subtract.

I think I know what you are thinking and you are halfway on the right track. : ) You are probably looking at the x-axis right in between the pentagon and its reflection. This <em />is the right line, but it is a y-line and not x. When we say a line is at x = 0, we mean that every point on that line has an x-value of 0, such as (0,1), (0,2), (0, 3) etc. Any line in the form x = 0 (or any other number) is a vertical line. Y-lines are the same way but they run horizontal like the line of reflection in this problem. : )
