How does the structure of the cell membrane help the cell regulate water?

Biology

The major purpose of the cell membrane is to regulate the types of substances that enter the cells and leave the cell, thus, it is a semi permeable structure.
The structure of the cell membrane help the cell in regulating the amount of the water inside the cell because, when the optimum amount of water is inside the cell, the membrane will not allow the pasage of water molecules into the cell again.
And in a situation, where the concentration of substance inside the cell is above the normal concentration, the cell membrane will allow the required amount of water to flow into the cell in order to reduce the concentration.
Also, the phospholipid bilayers that are found in the cell membrane help to regulate water homeostasis of the cell by using its hydrophobic tail to repel water molecules and thus keep them out or inside of the cells.

Suppose virus A has a viral genome of 19,000 bp, and 10,000,000,000 viruses are replicated in an infected individual in a single
Kitty [74]

Answer:

1 day.

Explanation:

From the given information:

The rate of mutation induced by RNA polymerase is:

\implies \dfrac{1}{10000}= 0.0001

Since the genome comprise of 19000 bp;

To complete a single replication, the viral cycle induce: = \dfrac{19000}{1000}

= 1.9 \ mutation \\ \\  \simeq 2 \  mutation

However, in a single day; 10,000,000,000 viruses are reported to be replicated.

Hence, if a virus has 2 mutations; Then 10,000,000,000 virus will have:

= \dfrac{10,000,000,000}{2} \\ \\ = \text{5000000000 \ mutations \ in \ a \ half \ day which is half} \\ \\ \text{ the given no of the replicated virus}

SO, to round this up to whole number, it will take 1 day (s) to overcome the therapy.

Some birds are known as honey guides because they may be followed by humans to wild beehives. When the humans take honey from th
zloy xaker [14]

Answer:mutualism

Explanation:

In a mutualistic relation,both organisms involved benefit from the activities of each other. The benefits may be nourishment,shelter, protection etc.

In the above example,the birds are known to guide humans by responding to specific calls made by the human. They guide humans to beehives and then in return gets to feed on left over honey. Both the bird and human benefits by getting nourishment.

Mutualism is unlike parasitism where one of the organism involved benefits and the other organisms Is most likely harmed. It is also not commensalism, where one organism benefits and the other neither benefits nor is harmed

7. In what other places, besides central Africa, can people with a high eumelanin content be found
zalisa [80]

Answer:

Although people living in low latitudes have high levels of eumelanin, this pigment can be found in people around the world (because it is predominant in people with brunette hair)

Explanation:

In animals and humans, melanin pigments play key roles in eye, hair, and skin coloration. Basically, there are three main types of melanin pigments: eumelanin (brown-black and insoluble), pheomelanin (yellow-red and soluble in alkali solution) and neuromelanin (found in some parts of the brain). Eumelanin is predominant in black people and brunette hair people, this being consequently found around the world. There are two distinct classes of eumelanin: black eumelanin and brown eumelanin, which differ in their patterns of polymeric bonds, and they have an incidence on the type of coloration (e.g., black eumelanin is found in people with grey hair).

Oksanka [162]

Organic evolution states that all life on the earth is descended from from  other life and has transformed from , at times , very different ancestors.

Evolutionary theory is based on ideas of species and related to their gradual decreases.It is given by Darwin which is based on natural selection. Evolution is not theory about the origin of life. Its express about that how species change over time and what many people think there is also little conflict between evolution and religions.

Evolution is the process in which gradual change that takes places over many generation to generations in which species of animals , plants or insects slowly change some of their physical characteristics.
