Choose the phase of the bacterial growth curve during which a bacterial population has the briefest doubling time.
Scrat [10]
The stage where the doubling time will be the shortest will be the one where replication is taking place the fastest. This phase is known as the exponential phase. This phase is characterized by exponential growth rates of a bacterial colony.

This phase occurs due the excess amount of resources that are present compared to the amount necessary to sustain the bacterial colony. Therefore, not being limited by resources, the bacteria multiply rapidly. However, the resources then run out due to which replication stop, bringing on the lag phase. Finally, the bacteria begin to starve and die off due to the lack of resources, bringing about the death phase.

Identify the correct statement about the resting membrane potential of a cell. Group of answer choices
Pie

Answer:C

Explanation:

Resting Membrane Potential (RMP) is the charge difference represented as voltage difference across a nueronal cell membrane at rest.

It has a value of -50 and -75mV.

Graphically it represents the flat plateau at the last part of the curve of action potential (check the attachments)

In a normal resting cell after Action potential ;for example nuerone, the intercellular layer has more potassium ions, while the extracellular layer has more Sodium ions .

These ions have special channels called sodium and potassium channels for movement in and out of these ions by active transports.

The movements of these ions across the membranes generated electrical potential difference for action potential.

Which molecule is less soluble in water--a fat or a phospholipid? Why?
VladimirAG [237]
Fat is less soluble in water compared to phospholipids.
This is because, fat is made up of three molecules of fatty acids which are not polar in nature at all, thus they mixed very poorly with water.
Phospholipids on the other hand has its molecules divided into two distinct regions, the head and the tail region. The head region is hydrophillic and it is polar in nature, that is, it mixes well with water. The tail region is made up of the fatty components and it is hydrophobic.
Because of this difference in structure, phospholipid will dissolve better in water.

Which is a closed system.a tree, a human ,a clock , or a car
melomori [17]
A closed system is a system that makes no physical or chemical exchanges with its environment. Of these systems provided as choices (tree, human, clock, car), only a clock does not make exchanges with the environment, except for energy.
Therefore, of that list, only a clock would be a closed system.
Hope that helped! =)

How did the backyard bird feeders in the article increase competition in that ecosystem?
Ronch [10]

Answer:

Backyard bird feeding is a well known type of human–untamed life communication in specific regions of the northern and southern side of the equator.

Explanation:

In territories where sustaining is mainstream in the Southern Hemisphere, supplemental encouraging may excessively profit acquainted winged creature species while driving with decreases of local species, possibly due to hetero specific competition.

However, Backyard bird feeders can bring about constructive outcomes on some feathered creature species, for example, improved overwinter endurance, expanded populace sizes and geographic range extension.
