Answer:  The equation is 5.25x = 21  and it will take Gary 4 weeks to exercise 21 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

So we know a week is  7 days and Gary exercise 3 days out of the 7 days.

so we will have to multiply 3 * 1.75 to find the number of hours that  she exercise in 1 week.

3 * 1.75 = 5.25  so Gary exercises  5.25 for every week  so now we could use x to represent the number of weeks Gary will take to exercise 21 hours.

5.25x = 21  where x is the number of weeks.

x= 4

Solve the following system of equations: −2x + y = 1 −4x + y = −1
Liula [17]
Hello!

-2x + y = 1
-4x + y = -1

You can subtract these equations from each other to eliminate y

2x = 2

Divide both sides by 2

x = 1

Put this into one of the original equations

-2(1) + y = 1

Combine like terms

-2 + y = 1

Add 2 to both sides

y = 3

The answer is D) (1, 3)

Hope this helps!
