in the backwaters of Kerala a boatman was throwing a Boat using a long pole of length 4.80 when he put the pole vertically into
Hitman42 [59]

Answer:

3.60m

Step-by-step explanation:

In backwaters of Kerala, a boatman was throwing a boat with a long pole which has a length of 4.80m

The boatman put the pole into the water vertically, the part of the pole that was seen above the water level is 0.25m

The first step is to calculate the length of the pole that is seen above the water level

= 4.80 × 0.25

= 1.20m

Therefore the depth of the water at that point can be calculated as follows

=4.80m - 1.20m

= 3.60m

Hence the depth of the water at that point is 3.60m

I need help...I'm new to all this geometry stuff can someone please show me some steps to this problem
Rasek [7]

There really aren't any steps. It's just a handy fact about Isosceles triangles.

An Isosceles triangle is a triangle that has two sides that are the same length,
and one of the facts about this kind of triangle is that the angles opposite the
two equal sides are equal angles.

In your picture, the two sides of the triangle that have tick marks across them
are equal lengths, and that means that the angles at 'S' and 'U' are equal angles.

In this kind of triangle, those are called the "base angles", even though they
don't necessarily have to be the angles that the triangle stands on. They're
just the two angles that are opposite the two equal sides.

Lilit [14]
Hey there Ag484p1stit,

Answer:

Rent = 25% x $3,400
         = $850
Left now = $3,400 - $850
               = $2,550
Transportation = 30% x $2,550
                        = $765.
She spends $765 on transportation.

Hope this helps :D

An element with mass 490 grams decays by 28.6% per minute. How much of the element is remaining after 16 minutes, to the nearest
agasfer [191]

Answer:

2.2 grams

Step-by-step explanation:

We can use the compound decay formula shown below to solve this:

F=P(1-r)^t

Where

F is the final amount (what we want to find)

P is the present amount (490 grams)

r is the rate of decay, in decimal (28.6% = 28.6/100 = 0.286)

t is the time in minutes (16)

Substituting, we get:

F=P(1-r)^t\\F=490(1-0.286)^{16}\\F=490(0.714)^{16}\\F=2.2355

So, after 16 minutes, 2.2355 grams will be remaining.

Rounded to nearest tenth of a gram (1 decimal place) = 2.2 grams remaining
